Any recommendations or tips on how to get such crisp edits in live?
Compression helps a lot when I do my edits. You want the original kick and snare of the track to fade out behind your own kit. I don’t know much about the right settings, but trying out the knobs until you get the sound that you want is best.
I also use on my master the W1 Limiter from Wong, which helps to gain volume and glue your elements together. But be light on the settings.
How can u make such a reminiscent sound texture with Sylenth 1 and Ableton? I’ve assumed that you make music with a lot of Vintage Synth, Neve Analaog Mixer and 24ch ATR Reel to Reel Tape Machine!
Sylenth1 is probably my favourite synth ever. Even though it’s main purpose is to have big trance leads and bangers synth, I have also find it to be very good for subtle textures. I always tweak the original patch and add delay Inside of it with the right amount of cutt off. Try the CFA Audio Synergy presets. Sounds shit at first but once you get to the synth sections, take off the Drive distortion and you will get some supa good sounds if you spend a while on it.
I’ve almost never used analog gear cuz = money $$$ ++
